KING'S KIDS

The Bible tells us in Psalm 127:3 that children are a gift from the Lord. This God-given trust is vitally important to us all as we care for and teach children here at WVC. Parents, volunteers, and staff play an essential and influential role in making God's love real to all the children in our care. Children are recognized as a very special gift. We value each of them as unique and special, to be cared for, nurtured, and shown the love of Christ. In that, we have created programs that we believe will nurture their gifts and lead them to discipleship. Children's Church Programs also helps our church to grow by making it easier for new people to attend services. Parents will be able to listen to sermons without distractions. They will be confident that their children are loved, and that they enjoy spending time at church with their new friends. In this way, children's ministry helps evangelize parents.

Manners and Etiquette Program (ME)

Description:

This program is designed to teach children to be comfortable in any social situation. The principle objective will build character, self-esteem, and social self-confidence and respect for others. Through our training and teaching, the program will instill wholesome values that will have a positive impact on every area of our children's lives. It will show our children how to be God's "Cool" kids with kind hearts, how to live "The Golden Rule," and treat people with kindness, caring, and respect.

This program is taught 2 calendar quarters of the year on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of each month using a combination of purchased curriculum (Tadpole Dreams) and curriculum created by WVC teachers that is aligned to the scriptures in the Bible. Tadpole Dreams is a lighthearted and interactive program designed to reinforce and teach civility and common courtesy to elementary and middle- school aged children. The program combines a child friendly, good manners handbook and a curriculum containing more than 50 games, crafts, and activities designed to complement each lesson.

Children's Church Education (CCE)

Description:

Children's Church Education is provided two days per week: Sunday and Wednesday in the Children's Church Building classrooms. Children have a fun, loving, hands-on Bible time each class meeting with their teachers who love the Lord and these little kids alike. Strong Bible foundations are laid for further growth in faith. Through kid-involved Bible stories, games, competitions, Bible memory, prizes, and meaningful kids' worship, these children enrich their learning about Jesus and continue to grow in His love.

We utilize an in-house curriculum adapted from the Bible (both Old and New Testament) as well as utilize All-Stars for Jesus 2 calendar quarters per year (summer and fall).

Vacation Bible School

Description:

Vacation Bible School is a special week where emphasis on Bible study extends the ministry of our church beyond our walls to reach those children who live in our communities, yet may not be involved in ongoing Bible study. Our main objective is to share with them the love of God and prepare the way for them to come to know Jesus Christ in a personal way as Lord and Savior.

Outreach:

Description:

"Let your light shine before others so that they may see your good works & give glory to your Father in Heaven." This passage is taken from the Gospel of Matthew (5:16) and reminds us of how important and central it is for Christians to reach out and help those who are in need. We do this not to receive personal praise, but rather that the person receiving assistance may offer up glory to God, for answering their prayer. We build our outreach ministry around this scripture and have incorporated activities to support that scripture as defined below:

* Nursing Home Visits-December annually

* Children's Hospital-December annually

* Food Bank for the Needy-November annually

* Pen Pal Across the Nations-Throughout the year

* Nothingbutnets.net 100% of donations will go to providing nets for children in Africa, no portion of our contribution will be diverted for administrative costs. Nothing But Nets, a program of the United Nations Foundation is a registered public charity under section 501(c)3 of the U.S. Internal Revenue Code.
